"Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls." (Jeremiah 6:16)

Do Not Permit Yourself To Become a
Victim of Ecclesiastical Manipulation

by Stuart DiNenno

If you have recognized the dead state of denominational Christendom, then do not allow yourself to be controlled by its ministerial operatives who use the Scriptures to try to keep you in bondage by attempting to convince you that your separation from their congregations is a sin against God.

If you have separated from them because of their blatant infidelity, you are not foolishly violating the command to not forsake Christian assemblies (Hebrews 10:25), instead you are wisely practicing the forsaking of false churches.

Now it may be the case that many ministers truly believe that to separate from today’s institutional churches is sinful and some of them may be sincere in their concern for you. Be that as it may, you have no obligation to remain on a sinking ship and drown yourself because the captain cannot see, or refuses to acknowledge, the obvious reality that the vessel is foundering and unrecoverable, and so he will not blow the alarm to abandon it. The sincerity of the pilot in exhorting you to remain on board is not your concern when you can see for yourself that the ship is slipping beneath the waves.

If you become convinced that you are in an apostate church, please do not permit yourself to become a victim of ecclesiastical manipulation or misdirection, and remain in it out of fear that leaving it will somehow displease God. Nothing could be further from the truth.
