I Believe the Church Will Have Victory
Both in this Age and the Age to Come
by Stuart DiNenno
I am convinced that the modern-day Jews are the synagogue of Satan and that they have, in large part, already achieved dominion over the nations and have been using their power and influence during this modern age to spread death and destruction on an enormous scale. However, I am also convinced that Christ is the Son of God, and is God Himself, and so is infinitely more powerful than Satan and his synagogue.
Knowing the latter, how can I believe that Christians, who are the children of the Most High, who have been purchased with the blood of His Son, and who have His Holy Spirit dwelling in them, are not going to accomplish what the children of the devil have accomplished? How can I believe that the spiritual presence of Christ is not enough to produce victory for His church in this world, while the spiritual presence of Satan, who is a mere created being, is enough to produce victory for his synagogue in this world? Am I to believe that the Spirit of Christ is not capable of accomplishing through His people what the Spirit of Anti-Christ has accomplished through his people?
Perhaps I am to believe that the capability exists for the nations to be brought under the influence of Christianity but it is the will of God that it never be so, and that He has ordained for them to remain under satanic control throughout history and for the church to be forever hiding in a cave, so to speak. If this is the case, then I need to stop condemning the modern-day American churchmen as cowards for not fighting for something more, and I need to learn to be content, as they are, with a religion that compartmentalizes itself down to a very limited sphere of church influence, concerns itself only with the salvation of individuals, and leaves everything else to the devil. But I don’t know that I could even go on being a Christian if I were required to hold to a religion with such a loser mentality.
Now some will insist that the victory the church has been given through Christ is an eternal victory over sin and death, and so it is actually a much greater victory than Christian dominion over the nations in this age. I can agree with them on this point. This is the much greater triumph. However, holding this belief does not change the fact that if they believe Christianity will never, at any time during the current era, hold sway over the nations as a force for good and will never displace the satanism that currently has power over the nations as a force for evil, then they do believe that the church will be defeated in this world. They do believe that the church of God is never going to accomplish what the synagogue of Satan is already accomplishing.
I cannot accept this belief. I believe that the church both can and will have victory in this age as well as in the age to come, and I believe that no man can truly fight for the advance of the kingdom of God with all his heart, if he does not believe the same.
