"Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls." (Jeremiah 6:16)

The Worst Enemies of Christ Are In the Christian Ministry

by Stuart DiNenno

Do you want to know who the worst enemies of Christ really are? It is the great majority of men in the professional so-called evangelical Christian ministry.

The religious professionals in America have turned Christianity into an emasculated and ineffectual religion of mere sentimentality that is devoid of spiritual power and virile boldness, and one that only desires to hide away from the world while evil takes dominion over the society beyond the four walls of its meeting places. In certain cases, it still retains some, or even much, of the form and profession of true Christianity. However, these are mostly just hollow vestiges of the robust faith of our forefathers, and it has, in reality, degenerated into a compartmentalized, inward-looking religion that only concerns itself with an intellectual comprehension of doctrine (to greater and lesser degrees across the various denominations), some aspects of personal piety, and the things practiced in the few hours of the church’s weekly assembly. It is no longer a militant force for converting the people and transforming the culture outside of its walls, and it is itself continually and increasingly conforming to the evil of that culture.

It is no exaggeration to say that this religion is blasphemous because while claiming to be the expression of Christ to the world, it actually presents a distorted pseudo-Christ who is a cowardly, effeminate doormat with no backbone to stand against the forces of Satan — a false god who would have his disciples remain silent in the face of evil, while His enemies conquer the world and destroy multitudes of men, women, and children in the process.

And so while we can acknowledge and appreciate the few exceptions, we ought to hate the overwhelming majority of professional ministers and their counterfeit Christianity, even more than we ought to hate the filthy sodomites or the malignant Jews.

  1. I really like this short piece. It puts me in mind of an excerpt from Hungarian nationalist Louis Marschalko:

National Socialism undertook to fulfill those tasks that ought to have been performed by Christianity. No doubt it would have been much better had the Christian Churches in the turbulent hours of 1919 declared war on Bolshevistic atheism, on the immorality infesting European societies, and on the corruption, defeatism, capitalistic exploitations, and Marxist class-liberation. But the Christian Churches had developed a glass-house Christianity restricted to empty prayers, [and] proved itself to be only a passive witness of historic events—backing on every occasion the actual holder of state power. During the period between the two World Wars prayers were said from both Catholic and Protestant pulpits, not so much for the living members of the Church community, as for the welfare of the ruling powers. p. 65.
